Fancy Feed

The Fancy Philosophy. The Fancy Feed Company is family owned and run and dedicated to producing well balanced, nutritious poultry feeds from natural ingredients. They try to source these locally and are all non-GM and ‘identity preserved’ which means they are kept segregated from any potential GM contaminants at all times.
What is equally important is the quality of nutrients provided by these ingredients so all are carefully selected and combined according to scientifically researched formulations to provide the optimum nutritional balance. Cereals are meticulously cooked before their inclusion in our fully balanced feeds and this greatly improves digestibility which, in turn, helps reduce any risk of digestive upsets.
Scampers are now stocking Fancy Feed Layers’ Pellets. These are ideal for free-ranging and penned birds alike, Layers’ Pellets are formulated to provide a complete balanced diet for all types of adult and laying poultry, ducks, geese and bantams. Included in the Fancy Feed range is the Mixed Corn an appealing blend of English wheat and cut maize which can be fed to all kinds of poultry, waterfowl and bantams to complement a fully balanced diet of pellets or mash.
Fancy Feed Guidelines for Fancy Feed Poultry
• Fancy Feeds poultry feeds can be fed from 18 weeks of age.
• To help ensure birds receive a balanced diet, pellets are best fed ad lib and not mixed with additional grain or mixed corn.
• As a guide only, birds should consume a minimum of 100g (4 ounces) per day for larger birds. Bantams, again as a guide only, should consume 85g (3.5 ounces) per day.
• A treat of Fancy Feed Mixed Corn and/or kitchen scraps may be fed in the afternoon or evening after the main ration of pellets or mash has been fed. This ensures the birds to not fill themselves with corn in preference to the fully balanced Fancy Feed Layers’ Pellets.
• Ensure clean fresh water is available at all times.
• Ensure your birds have clean bedding.
• Birds should have access to a source of insoluble grit at all times to aid digestion.
• Greens, like carrot tops or cabbage leaves are great for penned hens to peck at if they can’t be free range.
