What is a Fibrevore?
Fibrevores need fibre to live healthy lives. What is a Fibrevore? Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas and Degus
In the wild they eat, mainly grass, leaves, vegetable matter and occasional twigs or bark. As prey animals they feed through taste and smell. Their vision is reserved for spotting predators (not looking at their food) Food colour is irrelevant to them.
They have small digestive systems and therefore constantly need the intake of fibre first and foremost. A digestive system without fibre fails and is fatal to your Fibrevore.
There is a massive health risk to your pet simply by feeding the wrong food. Fibrevores rely on fibre moving through their gut at all times. Digestible fibre and non-digestible fibre (beneficial) are essential for their nutritional needs. Beneficial fibre is vital for :
- Digestive health
- Dental health
- Emotional health
Unsure if your fibrevore is getting enough fibre? Speak to the Scampers Pet Care Advisors about the Excel Feeding Plan. Scampers is located between Newmarket and Ely on the A142 Soham By-Pass.
