Aquarius

Aquarius

Aquarius Veterinary Practices are not a chain, but do have two practices, one in Mildenhall which is run by Partner Rob Gould and one located in-store at Scampers which is run by Rob’s wife and Practice Partner, Theo Gould.

Aquarius is now in its 22nd year of offering caring, compassionate and independent personal service to their clients and their pets.  Sharing all of our passion for animals, Rob and Theo both have a deep understanding of their clients concerns for the welfare of their pets and as a client of Aquarius, it is reassuring to know that on most occasions you are dealing with the owners of the practice.

Rob and Theo themselves own a household full of pets including cats, horses and seven German Long Haired Pointers with which they compete in National Field Trial competitions, therefore you can be sure they understand the love we have for our best friends.

Soham Practice

Within our Soham Practice we have all the top of the range equipment you would expect from a high quality small animal practice.

The often unsung heroes of any veterinary practice are the teams of nurses who look after our animals (and us!) when we visit the vets and especially when we have to leave our pets in their care for operations and emergencies. The veterinary nurses and the team on reception are second to none. All the Aquarius staff will help to put your mind at rest and make your pets visit as enjoyable and stress free as possible.

Our team of nurses can also help with minor issues and offer FREE consultations for a variety of services to help to keep your pets in tip top health including; geriatric clinics, weight control advice, micro-chipping, nail clipping, dental checks, flea and worm advice and puppy and kitten health checks, all you will be charged for are any products your pet may need.

Team of Experts

For us to offer a top quality service to our clients, Aquarius Veterinary Practice @ Scampers, has another great team of veterinary surgeons to support Theo and all have interests in different fields of veterinary medicine, these are; Nicola Jackson, Salomi Venter and Peter Fordyce.

Sometimes however all veterinary surgeons will need to refer to specialist practices to deal with, for example; orthopaedics, cancers, ophthalmic problems and other specialised treatments. We are very lucky in this area to have some true experts in their fields for us to refer our pets should they require additional expertise including; Dick White Referrals, The Animal Health Trust, Cambridge Veterinary School and The Grove Veterinary Hospital in Fakenham.

Aquarius Puppy Social

Aquarius Puppy Social image

The most important aspect of puppy training is puppy socialisation. Imagine the pleasure of walking in the park with your dog off the lead in the knowledge that they are well socialised and will know how to appropriately meet and greet other dogs and their owners.

The only way to achieve this is early socialisation and continuing socialisation.  Aquarius are offering your puppy a fantastic opportunity to come and socialise your pre second vaccination puppy in this safe, relaxed but controlled environment.

Puppy Socialisation will cover:-

Week 1   Socialisation, why it is important to set ground rules for your puppy.  Motivational training and the importance of toys.  Basic commands and the control positions.  Performing health checks to your puppy and grooming.

Week 2   Housetraining; what to do and how to solve the problem.  The importance of using an indoor crate.  Heelwork, nutrition advice and when to change to an adult food, and of course, good food manners for your puppy.

Week 3   Bite inhibition and jumping up.  The most important command for every puppy, the recall.  Fleas and worms; how to catch them and what to do about them.

Week 4   Developing behaviours; chewing and barking.  Teaching the retrieve.  Adolescent behaviours.

Puppy socialisation is held on Wednesday’s at 2.30pm,  Please telephone Julie to book your place on 01353 722711.
